This was by far the most bizarre Valentine's Day I have ever had. First it is the first Valentine's I have spent without my darling husband. Second it was Monday. Holidays should never be on Monday's ~ it throws the rest of the week off balance, unless it is a holiday that we get off of work like President's Day.
Anyways, I received some sad news at work today I can't share the details as it is confidential information. An acquaintence passed away unexpectedly and very tragically. Not anyone that I knew well, but still a sad story to start the week off with...particularly on a holiday such as Valentine's Day.
I was instantly grateful for a wonderful husband and a very fulfilling marriage. I worry a lot about Ben being in a combat zone, but one thing I do not worry about is his character. I always know that I am at the top of his priority list, and that I can always count on him.
I kept counting up all of my blessings through out the day, and I realized just how grateful I am for the gift of life. Every day with my friends and family, and particularly my husband Ben, is a gift.
