I always make it to church 15 minutes early so that I can have a bench all to myself. I strategically spread all my stuff out so it looks like lots of people are going to be sitting with me.
A family stole my usual bench, so I had to find an empty one on the other side of the chapel. The meeting had started and I assumed I was home free! Until about 10 minutes into the meeting a family with a new baby asked if I could scoot myself and all my stuff over. So I did. They were very nice and their two little babies are really cute. They are African by the way so their babies are really really cute. Anyways, they must be tired from that new baby waking them up, because after the meeting I was trapped between them the baby seat and the wall. They had been chatting with another couple clear until everyone else had exited the chapel.
No worries though, because I had two envelopes of tithing to give the Bishop who is always the last one out. I hate the feeling of getting behind on that. I have decided that I wouldn't mind having a collection plate passed around sacrament meeting like other congregations. It would really save me a lot of time and effort. Haha! I hope you guys know I am only kidding...although it certainly would be more convenient for me!
Benjamin lied to me. Yep. Right to my face...er ear since we were on the phone. I'm grateful he did! Funny because earlier in the week my co worker caught her husband in a lie about money, and she said she knew that my husband would never lie to me. I agreed whole heartedly....that's how good a liar Ben is!
Bet you're wondering what he lied about huh? Ha! Is the suspense killing you yet?? OK ok it's killing me! I can't keep it a secret any longer!
He told me that he wouldn't be able to skype me for a couple of days because he was going to be too busy getting some awards blah blah blah stuff ready for something or other. On second thought, maybe I'm just a really easy person to lie to since I'm not that great of a listener. Anyways, he was really leaving the base for something he can't tell me about. Only that involved a helicopter and a convoy. I am so grateful he didn't tell me until after he was back safe and sound on his regular base. Not that his regular base is safe and sound, he's just done a really good job at reassuring me. I'm glad he got to have an adventure and see some more of Iraq, but I'm more glad I didn't know about it!! Phew!
If your like me which I know you are :) You are gratefull for the lies. Although, I have gotten to the point when Adam says "don't worry everything will be fine." I beleive him :) Even though I "know" the risks of what he is doing. It makes it easier that he would care enough to put me at ease and then in return I can give him the trust and reassurance he needs.
ReplyDeleteNow speaking of the pass along plate!! hahahah I totally agree Melissa!!
You should have crawled under the pews army style!
